Unbeaten Blitzboks set for big quarter-final clash

The Blitzboks topped their pool at the Los Angeles Sevens on Saturday. They will face hosts the USA in the Cup quarter-finals at 20:49 (SA time) on Sunday. The Blitzboks claimed comfortable wins against Kenya (31-5) and Canada (33-5), before fighting back from 19-7 down to draw 19-19 with Ireland. Kurt-Lee Arendse's try with two minutes to go brought the Blitzboks back to within seven of the Irish. Then, in the final play of the game, captain Stedman Gans scored his second try of the match, with Selvyn Davids kicking the conversion. Werner Kok, playing in his 50th World Rugby Sevens tournament, scored a try and received a yellow card against Kenya. Angelo Davids, JC Pretorius, Muller du Plessis and Branco du Preez also crossed the line.
