Lizo Gqoboka: Your style says a lot about you

Bulls prop LIZO GQOBOKA tells about his love for fashion.

What do you love about fashion?
I absolutely love fashion because it allows you to express yourself through creativity. Fashion is an art and it really shows who you are and says a lot about you. I also just love looking good – If you look good, you feel good!

What's your favourite fashion brand?
Puma is definitely my go-to brand. I love their creativity and the fact that they are super futuristic. They don’t compromise on quality and comfort, which is a redeeming quality when it comes to fashion.

What's your go-to everyday look?
A pair of jeans, a T-shirt and a great pair of Puma sneakers.

What are your favourite sneakers at the moment?
The Puma RS and the Puma RS-X. They are super stylish and comfortable and they have the most amazing colour variations.

Does having a wife who has a career in fashion help with inspiration?
Omila is so incredibly passionate about fashion. She has an eye for the art and finds the most amazing pieces, so it certainly helps!

What's your favourite type of style?
There are no limits to how futuristic and good you can look, so my two favourite types are completely different. I love streetwear and dressing up fancy – as long as I am comfortable.

Which teammate of yours is the most stylish?
Definitely Simphiwe Matanzima. It must be a prop thing [laughs]. I love his style, it's really unique!

What fashion trend do you not understand?
I don’t have any, because I believe people express themselves through their style according to their characters. You do you – as long as you’re comfortable and feeling good, go for it!

What fashion advice do you have?
First of all, know yourself and your body. Don’t be scared to express yourself and don’t limit your fashion sense to your environment. Wear whatever you like as long as you feel comfortable, confident and good about yourself.
