Cheetahs strength and conditioning coach André Smith met his wife Kim next to the rugby field.
The two hit it off while working together during an SA Schools campaign in 2016.
'When we met, I didn't immediately think "this girl is going to be my wife",' Smith told Cato Louw during a RugbyRocks.com Instagram Live. 'But we realised there was definitely something there after spending time together.
'Kim [a physiotherapist] needed to go back to Port Elizabeth as she was working with the Kings and I was based in Stellenbosch at the time. I was hesitant to do the whole long-distance thing.
'We didn't speak for ages and then saw each other again, at my high school in Paarl. All the feelings we had from the SA Schools campaign came back again and we said we were going to get married within a year.'
The two enjoy being able to chat with each other about rugby, but try not to when at home.
'Kim understands everything I speak about and complain about when it comes to rugby,' said Smith.
'It's really amazing to be able to chat with her about the rugby world. She gives great advice and has a lot of knowledge about injury prevention and signal programming.
'But we do try to leave work at work and connect as a couple. I definitely don't think I get enough physio sessions at home, though,' he added with a laugh.
