France rise in World Rugby rankings

France have moved above the Wallabies in the World Rugby rankings after their 24-17 win against England in Paris. Les Bleus are now sixth, their highest position since June 2017, while England remain in third place behind the world champion Springboks and the All Blacks. Ireland gained 0.17 of a point after beating Scotland 19-12 in Dublin but that was not enough for them to catch Wales in fourth place in the rankings. Scotland stay in ninth, just outside the top two bands of seeds for the 2023 World Cup draw in November. Wales' 42-0 win over Italy in Cardiff did not have any impact on the rankings due to the large points differential between the teams. World Rugby rankings (top 10): 1. South Africa 94.10 2.
